Katy Perry Reveals She’s a ‘Bridechilla’ in Planning Wedding with Orlando Bloom

February 29, 2020

No “bridezilla” here!

Katy Perry, who is gearing up to walk down the aisle and marry longtime boyfriend, Orlando Bloom, said she’s not overly concerned with the small details of her wedding.

“It's not about the party, it's about the coming together of people who will hold us accountable when things get really hard. Because it's really great and then it's really hard,” she explained while gracing the cover of Australian glossy Stellar Magazine in a colorful and fun ensemble.

In fact, the pop star said she’s the total opposite of a bridezilla.

“'I call myself a 'bridechilla' as opposed to a 'bridezilla'. Orlando and I are united with our approach," Katy said of their upcoming nuptials.

The singer previously called herself a “bridechilla” during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” where she said explained, “I’m like, I’m kinda chill. But I am one of those girls where I got engaged February 14 and I booked the place February 19.”

The “American Idol" judge also told the publication that wedding planning has had a positive impact on her and her relationship.

She explained they are united in their “approach” with Orlando constantly challenging her in a good way.

“Those are just the facts when you're with someone who challenges you to be your best self,” she added.

The couple first began dating in early 2016 before splitting in 2017 and reconciling in 2018.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star popped the question on Valentine’s Day 2019 with a $5 million dollar ring, which she flaunted on Instagram.

However, the couple has been taking their time with the planning as they don’t want to rush things.

In August, Orlando told "Sunday Today with Willie Geist" that he doesn’t want to get divorced a second time.

“It's important to me that we are aligned. I've been married and divorced and I don't want to do it again,' he said.

Both Katy and Orlando were previously married. Katy wed English comedian Russell Brand in 2010, but they split a year later.

Orlando tied the knot with Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr in 2010, though they divorced in 2013. They share nine-year-old son Flynn.

The actor recently fixed a misspelled tattoo honoring his son. It was meant to spell Flynn in Morse code, but instead, the art skipped a dot to improperly spell Frynn.
