Jessica Simpson Says 'Hello 40' By Wearing Jeans From Her 20s

July 10, 2020

Jessica Simpson is singing “I Wanna Love You Forever” to an old pair of jeans.

The singer has shared a picture of herself rocking a pair of jeans from her 20s to celebrate her 40th birthday.

“I have kept these throwback True Religion jeans in my closet for 14 yrs (I’m not exaggerating!)," the fashion designer, who turned 40 on Friday, captioned the mirror selfie.

“I figured that since I’m in the final hours of my 30’s I’d give them another try, and hello 40, so nice to meet you,” Simpson mused.

Celebrating her big birthday in style has proven “Irresistible” to the songstress, who earlier this year posted a bikini picture in which she sultrily looked back at the camera while wearing a cowboy hat. “YEE-HAW to my final days in my 30’s,” she wrote.

Earlier this year, Simpson released a tell-all memoir in which she didn’t hold back about a variety of personal topics including her struggles with drinking and marriage to her ex, Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees.

Simpson also devoted a chapter, titled “Death by Mom Jeans,” to a 2009 incident in which she famously performed at a chili cook-off wearing a pair of high-waisted jeans tied at the top with a leopard-print belt. Unfortunately, photos from the event went viral with commenters bullying the star relentlessly for her fashion choices.

“This picture that circulated and went worldwide broke my heart,” Simpson revealed in February. “Not the picture necessarily, but the caption. Like, all the captions.”
